Johnston Technologies, A Part of UPS History

May 30, 2014 Written by JohnTech

How many people or companies can claim they have been in their line of business for half of their business’ history? Probably not many. I know I can’t make that claim; heck, I’m a writer and that art has been around since 3200 BC in Mesopotamia. There are always exceptions, however, and Johnston Technologies is one of them.

For twenty five years now (Yep, it’s their anniversary this month), Johnston Technologies has been in the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) industry, an industry that began a little over 50 years ago. In 1956, the first No-Break UPS system, which was rotary, was patented to protect the power of the Royal Dutch Telecom Company. It was 20kVA. Okay, I’m just writing this and that means nothing to me either, but I will say that when I read that today’s UPSs rate up to 3000kVA, I understand that BABY, UPSs HAVE COME A LONG WAY!

Obviously, 50 years ago, the need for UPSs wasn’t as great because electronics were not as prevalent as today; I mean, homes (let alone businesses) didn’t have computers and cell phones… that technology wasn’t there yet. Today, however, an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is something no business can do without.

As this demand has grown over the years, so has Johnston Technologies. They have seen many changes in UPSs, and today’s are smaller, more efficient, reliable, and easier to maintain. Having Johnston Technologies provide your business’ UPS will provide your company with equipment you can grow with. Plus, you will develop a personal relationship with JTI and their family of professionals that will assure you will receive the best customer service now and in the future.

So who would you trust with all your company’s technology? A company that has been around for a few years? Or a company that has been around the block for half of the time UPSs have been around? I think we both know the answer to that question. Service, products, and dependability you can rely on…THAT is Johnston Technologies. So check out their website www.johntech.com to see all the fine products and services they provide and then when you call them, don’t forget to say HAPPY 25th ANNIVERSARY!
